Our Track Record

From start to finish the Lord has blessed Advance International with His favor.  There is no other way that we could have been able to do what we have done if it were not for Him.  Our passion to provide theological training for church leaders in places where there is little or none available is His calling on our lives.  The joy of this journey has been that along the way the Lord has brought other people, churches and organizations of like passion to come and partner by our sides to touch as many church leaders as possible in as many countries as possible.  With that in mind here is our track record.

Advance International was founded by the late Kim Hall, former pastor of Hunter’s Glen Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, and myself, Phil Walker, pastor of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison, Mississippi, in 2007.  We began a partnership in that year with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary to offer the seminary’s Pastoral Ministries Certificate at international sites where there was little or no theological training available.  Shortly thereafter we began to partner with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention who helped determine where this training was needed. We started with two schools in Indonesia.  In addition to these partnerships the Lord raised up teachers, translators, churches, associations, other non-profits and individuals with the same passion to train international church leaders.

To date we have graduated 722 students from 6 different countries.  Our schools fall into two groups.  The 21 schools in East Asia with over 1,000 students are funded and administrated directly by Advance International.  Occasionally we have people who have a real passion to start a school in other countries besides East Asia.  Since we have committed ourselves fully to these schools in East Asia, we are unable to fund and administrate over any other countries, but if they are willing to raise the necessary funds and administrate over the schools, then we partner with them in making sure they meet the requirements so their students can receive the Pastoral Ministries Certificate.  This is how the schools in Dominican, Haiti, Honduras, Kenya, Indonesia, Namibia, Nicaragua and Peru were started.  I

f you interested this is how you can start a school in a country where you have a passion to start this type of training.

We ask that you pray for us as we continue to seek the Lord's plans for our future.  Pray that as He continues to open doors we will run through them.   We ask that you give financially.  Your gifts will go to help our schools in East Asia and Jakarta.  We ask that you go.  We have a great team of teachers and interpreters, but as we grow there is always a need for more.  If you would like more information email me at pwalker@2advance.org.
